Edited on Tue May-11-04 08:06 PM by wtmusic
the DOD is taking a bigger piece away for 'non-hostile, non-direct line-of-fire blah blah blah' deaths.

7. I see the US is awash with outrage over that news release
No? Wonder why not?

Even if you allow for the fiddling of the numbers and take the total
as a mere 562 from hostile action, why is there not an overwhelming
outcry going on?

This is a hundred times more than the total mentioned in the "news item"
deaths (4 mercs and one civilian) yet there is a stunning silence from
the tabloids, a short concise mention in the broadsheets and a mere
"In other news today" from the idiot box.

And people think that the population is not being steered by the
administration's publicity machine ...?

8. Don't forget the 10,000 dead Iraqi civilians
The military guys at least knew what they were signing up for; the children dragged from the rubble of Iraqi apartment buildings demolished by US missiles had no such choice.
