_{Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has cancelled a planned visit to Washington next week.}

He was to have addressed a pro-Israeli group on the trip; aides said a meeting with US President Bush was possible.

His office gave no reason for the cancellation. It came as the Israeli cabinet met to discuss Mr Sharon's disengagement plan.

What is he up to now? Cancellation of trip is a bad sign. Israel alone is going to blow up the Mid-East. See other threads on this issue.

He and the chimp decided they better lay low for a while, until this torture stuff blows over. The Arab world has enough to be angry with the U.S. about, without a Sharon-Bush meeting to add to the mix.
