Blast rocks US offices in Baghdad
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3688731.stm

US troops spread out at the scene after the blast
An apparent car bomb has exploded outside an entry to the compound of the US administration in Baghdad and there are reports of casualties.
A black column of smoke rose into the air above burning vehicles as sirens howled at the scene, near one of the Iraqi capital's bridges.

Iraqi witnesses reported seeing casualties being taken away.

US troops guard the entry and a number of cars were waiting to be checked when the blast occurred, witnesses said.

2. We might as well sit back and relax

This is going to continue until hell freezes over. We will have our military in full battle dress, weapons drawn, in Iraqi streets for the rest of our lives.

http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=424454&contrassID=1&subContrassID=8&sbSubContrassID=0&listSrc=Y

<snip>

"A suicide car bomb exploded Thursday near a checkpoint to
the main complex housing U.S. administrative offices in central Baghdad, killing five Iraqi civilians and one U.S. soldier, a U.S. military officer said.

An earlier report by the officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, estimated the number of injured was at least a dozen, but that number has now risen to 26, at least three of which are U.S. soldiers.

The car bomb exploded outside of a meter-high concrete blast wall that shields cars driving up to a checkpoint outside of the zone."
