Martin, Bush tout ‘shared values' - Globe and Mail
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20040430.wmart0430/BNStory/National/

U.S. President George W. Bush brushed aside Canada's refusal to join his war in Iraq and said that he would be happy to have Canadian assistance in any form.

“The Prime Minister shares my deep desire for there to be peace in the world. And to the extent that the country feels comfortable in helping that, we're grateful,” Mr. Bush told at the White House Friday morning, after talks with Paul Martin.

“Canada is an independent nation,” he said. “Canada makes decisions based upon her own judgment.”

(at the end of the story)

“It's very clear that, with Canada and the United States working together, we can make great progress,” Martin said, to which Mr. Bush responded: “You betcha.”

1. Vote NDP! Usually I would support the Liberal Party, but....
Paul Martin is a Bush-Junta Apologist.

I can't believe that Martin supports Bush!?!

Clear the record: I'm America.

2. Martin doesn't like taking stands.
When it comes to Bush, a stand has to be taken.

3. Another opinion
I watched the briefing, and Martin was polite and business-like, but hardly a Bush* cheerleader. He was no Blair poodle.

“Canada is an independent nation,” he said. “Canada makes decisions based upon her own judgment.”

This was a breakthrough. Bush* got the message Martin was sending: We will make decisions IN Canada, FOR Canadians. It must have taken alot of explaining to hammer that into Bush's* wooden head.
