Leftists Joyful That Britain's Guardian Is Coming to America (rw rag)
NewsMax (media dumpster)

U.S. leftists are overjoyed that Britain's Guardian newspaper is coming to America.

Writing in New York Metro.com, Michael Wolff could barely contain himself as he gushed happily that the "unabashedly liberal Guardian may be just what the Bush-whacked U.S. press needs."

In other words, help is on the way for the Bush haters not satisfied with the quality of the anti-American tantrums of the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, NPR, Time, Newsweek, etc. ---

1. "Anti-American tantrums"? On CNN?
This guy lives in a different dimension that I do. It never ceases to amaze me how these idiots continue to view CNN as a bastion of liberalism. Do they not see Paula Zahn and Jack McCafferty in the morning or what?

2. It's the RW way.
On the one hand, their entire outward presence is wrapped up in playing the victim. It's how they keep enthusiasm up in the ranks, by constantly touting an atmosphere of desperation, as if the country were perpetually on the brink of slipping into a neo-Communist nightmare.

On the other hand, remember that conservativism (or rather, the pathological philosophy which in America now labels itself "conservatism") is fundamentally about lying. Conservatives sneer at Patrick Moynihan's adage, "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts" -- quite the opposite, they won't tolerate any opinions different from theirs, but believe they can create 'facts' which support those opinions simply by willing them to be true, and/or shouting them loud enough.

Thus, there's always going to be a grain of truth to the charge that journalists have a liberal bias -- anyone who even tries to tell the truth, whole truth, and nothing but the truth once in a while will inevitably end up contradicting the conservatives.

4. Where is the American Guardian website?
Is the Guardian doing a U.S. version already or is this something they are planning for the future?

As far as News Max goes, does anyone else find it hard not to laugh when they cry about media bias?

5. YEAH!
http://www.newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/news/media/columns/medialife/n_8938/index.html

First, it’s important to understand the anomalous nature of the Guardian itself.

There may not be anything else quite like it in commercial publishing anywhere. The Guardian is the fruit of a legal trust whose sole purpose is the perpetuation of the Guardian. In other words, the trust—the Scott Trust, created in 1936 by the Manchester family that controlled the paper—eliminates the exact thing that has most bedeviled media companies: the demands of impatient shareholders and the ambitions of would-be mogul CEOs.

YEAH!
