BBC gets more Britons' trust than Blair: poll
LONDON, (Agencies): British Prime Minister Tony Blair is unlikely to testify before a judicial inquiry into the death of weapons expert David Kelly before mid-September, a Scottish newspaper said Monday. The Scotsman said Blair - currently on holiday with his family in Barbados - was set to be among the last witnesses to appear before Lord Brian Hutton, who opened his probe last Friday. ..

More Britons trust the British Broadcasting Company than trust Prime Minister Tony Blair, a poll published Monday found. The survey by polling firm MORI for the Financial Times newspaper suggested that the heated political battle between the broadcaster and the government over claims Blair's office exaggerated the threat from Iraq has hurt the prime minister more than the BBC.

Fifty-nine per cent of those questioned said they trusted the BBC, compared to 41 per cent who said they trusted Blair. Twenty-six per cent said they did not trust the broadcaster, compared to 49 per cent who lack trust in the prime minister. A senior British opposition politician said Monday that the head of the intelligence agency MI6 had always planned to retire next year, and was not leaving because of questions about the quality and use of intelligence on Iraqi weapons.

6. They are still waaaay more balanced than US news
Mind you, it would take a heck of a lot for the BBC to be seen as less trustworthy than Tony Blair. You can tell when Blair is lying quite easily, it's whenever his lips are moving.
