Muwaffaq al-Rubaie: Force may be needed to bring peace to Fallujah, Najaf
"Sometimes one has to use force to bring lasting peace," Muwaffaq al-Rubaie, newly appointed national security advisor, told reporters.

***

"Iraqis must unite to extract the cancer of foreign fighters and former regime loyalists once and for all from the Iraqi body," said an emotional Rubaie.

***

He said reporters should refrain from describing the events in Fallujah and Najaf as a "fight against occupation, because occupation will end on June 30," with the handover of power to an interim Iraqi government.

"The true fight is stopping terrorists and Saddam's gang before it is too late," said Rubaie.

***

Force may be needed....

***

NB: This guy, Rubaie, he's a charlatan.

5. Not only will the occupation not be over, the war won't be either.
Funny thing about this 'war' with Iraq. Bush can't officially declare it 'over' or he has to start releasing POW's.

4. Hmmm...is Sadr a "foreign fighter" or a "former Saddam loyalist"???
What a schmuck this guy is.

BTW, it's not exactly clear to me that Fallujah was a particularly Saddam-happy place. I've seen more than one report stating that Fallujah was more about ribal loyalties than loyalty to Saddam, and that he had had problems with the population there on more than one occasion. I think the whole thing stinks, quite frankly, and I certainly don't believe a word coming from this hack - anyone who would believe him strikes me as incredibly stupid or ideologically blinded.

7. It is an affront to satire
First, Bushco exhausted parody. Then they went overseas to work their magic on satire.

In the meanwhile, a death toll.
