White House defends (Bolton's) NKorea remarks (spoke for WH)
Edited on Mon Aug-04-03 02:39 PM by Nambe
CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters)

The White House on Monday said President George W. Bush, not North Korea, would decide who represented the United States at multilateral talks on the standoff over the communist state's nuclear ambitions. ---

''He (Bolton) was speaking for the administration,'' White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters in Crawford, Texas where Bush is spending a monthlong working vacation. ''His remarks last week reiterated things that we have said in the past.'' ---

''The president of the United States makes the decisions about who participates in the delegations for the United States of America,'' McClellan said. ---
