Occupy Melbourne calls for worldwide tent protest

OCCUPY Melbourne protesters are calling for activists around the world to wear tents after a female protester was stripped of her costume by police.

The police Ethical Standards Department is investigating an assault complaint after police removed the tent from the woman on Monday.

As part of World Human Rights Day this Saturday, Occupy Melbourne has called for members of the global Occupy movement to wear tents for human rights.

Police had moved in on the protesters' site in Melbourne's Flagstaff Gardens just before 9am on Monday.
