3rd accuser of Syracuse coach admits to abusing teen
Source: CNN

Zachary Tomaselli, who was thrust into the national spotlight this month as the third man to publicly allege that former Syracuse University coach Bernie Fine molested him, said on Monday he will plead guilty to charges that he sexually abused a teenage boy.

Tomaselli is facing 11 charges, including gross sexual assault, in Maine involving alleged assaults against a then 13- and 14-year-old in 2009 and 2010.

He said the victim was a boy that he had grown close to when Tomaselli was his summer camp counselor.

"I'm going to plead guilty ... I take complete responsibility for what I did," he told CNN by phone from Lewiston, Maine.

Does this really change whether Bernie Fine molested Tomaselli?

1. No, it doesn't change the fact that he himself had been molested
It illustrates how assault/molestation can 'spread'...and therefore why it's so important to stop it when we first get a chance.

2. It was going to come out in discovery anyway
and I'm sure Fine's lawyers were going to try to use it discredit him.

3. Sexual abuse occurring in childhood
Often is passed. Meaning the child victim frequently becomes an offender. Why?...They say it is a form of dumping the shame accumulated when they were victimized.

4. Tomaselli is an unreliable witness.
He accused his own father of molesting him and the police investigated and discounted the claim. Also his father says his son is lying about being with Fine in Pittsburgh where molestation was supposed to have occurred. He father says his son has never been to Pittsburgh in his life.
