Video purports to show Texas judge beating daughter

Dallas (CNN) -- A Texas judge faces a police investigation and judicial probe after a video apparently showing him beating his then-16-year-old disabled daughter was posted on the Internet.

The graphic video drew international outrage after it was posted by a woman who said she was the victim -- and that her parents, including her father, Aransas County, Texas, Court-At-Law Judge William Adams -- were the ones seen beating and cursing at her in the video.

On Wednesday afternoon, Judge Adams was temporarily relieved of his duties for the next two weeks, and a visiting judge will take over his caseload while the matter is being investigated, according to the office of Aransas County Administrative Judge Burt Mills.

I'm not disabled but I was required to strip and grab my ankles for my whuppings, till I left home at 16. And heaven forbid if your dad is a judge, or a doctor (as mine was), because when they did it, it was considered "corporal punishment" at the discretion of the parent,... only indigent folks commit child abuse, dincha know?

The Sydney Morning Herald has published quite an extensive article, and in it the daughter says she set up the camera because she "knew something was going to happen".

It also quotes the judge in this telling sentence: "I really don't want to get into this right now because as you can see my life's been made very difficult over this child".

There speaks a man who just doesn't get it - what has happened is his fault, and his alone. But bullies always blame the victim.

14. Having been one, let me tell you what SHOULD happen, it's not a jail term, nor

death.

What should happen when a parent does this and it gets covered up till the child is an adult...

The parent should become the permanently indentured servant with a shock collar to the person(s) he/she abused. All income and assets should be handed over to the child in its entirety since it was the financial position of the judge that allowed him and my doctor father to continue their abuse.

That's was always my dream anyway. And surprisingly I wouldn't have abused him back. I would've done everything I could to piss him off, and then shocked him for not knowing how to control his response to anger. I guess a sort of shock behavior therapy for the rest of his f'ing life.
