Variety of protesters outside Obama fundraiser
Source: SF Chronicle

(10-25) 12:59 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- Hundreds of protesters have gathered in San Francisco's South of Market area this morning for President Obama's fundraising luncheon, all speaking out on a variety of the president's policies.

Most of the protesters outside the W Hotel during the president's $7,500-a-plate noon fundraiser were organized by CREDO Mobile, rallying against the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline across the Midwest.

Nancy Feinstein, a management consultant from Berkeley, attended the rally to protest the pipeline - even though she said she walked precincts for Obama in Florida.

"I found myself unable to contribute to his campaign this time," she said.

3. And it's Obama's fault.
Those of us who worked for his nomination and then for his election won't lift a finger this year -- other, in my case, to hold my nose and vote for him.

4. The Keystone Pipeline is a worthy cause to protest about. And, if the TP likes it ...who cares...
 Their candidates are idiots and getting money from the same people. At least Obama may begin to understand that this is important issue and he needs to look into it further.

24. Have a look at post 22. Some of that aid/comfort may have come FROM the enemy.
But whatever. Obama is always wrong, nowadays! The perfect is always the enemy of the good. If he isn't Jesus and Jim Morrison rolled up in a burrito, he just SUCKS! I get it--half a loaf, even three quarters, is NOT better than none!

I like the idea of an Obama Supreme Court better than a Romney one--but hey, that's just me.

18. Have you noticed that 'election years' last for a good eighteen months nowadays?
The GOP is already in the process of choosing their candidate through the debate process. Obama isn't on the road for his health, he's fundraising.

Whatever. Be literal.

Wonder why?

Maybe she went to visit her friend "Dianne Pelosi?" Who probably gave as much to the Obama campaign as she did!

I didn't "go off"--FWIW. This is a discussion forum. I am discussing.

Sheesh. Get over yourself--is the "pique" setting reserved for you alone?

2. Personally
I think the OWS goals would be served by showing up at Obama's various public appearances.

Perhaps our corporate friendly president might find some courage in their actions to act on behalf of the people.

Since Obama has taken to using some of their language in his speeches and since they generally look favorably on Democrats he should welcome their presence.

14. She claimed, truthfully or not, that she worked for his campaign last time.
I saw nothing in the story about her claiming to have contributed financially last time.

Also, for whatever it is worth, I searched my own name at Open Secrets and came up with zero, which I knew to be wrong. However, after I clicked "advanced search" and filled in all the information, including my zip code, I came up with 3, but not all, of the contributions I had made during the 2008 election cycle.

In San Francisco.

You can't possibly be that obtuse. She was edited out because she was a fake, and they published BEFORE they fact-checked.

All hail the 24 hour news cycle.

46. That's odd. Actually very, very odd.
That's HuffPo's donor lookup, which, when I checked it, had her $75 2004 Kerry donation, but nothing in 2008 -- the first cycle I looked up.

I'm not one for conspiracies, but it's very surprising to find it there now. Conveniently under the $500 minimum OpenSecrets uses in their database. :tinfoilhat:

Nah, more likely they're right and I'm wrong. But whatever you do, don't look yourself up on that thing. :D

22. Well, the name sounded fake to me from the git-go, and the woman has disappeared from the story.
They've edited her out.

I looked at her name when I first read the article, and I thought:

Nancy (PELOSI DIANNE) Feinstein.

They're nothing if not UN-subtle!

GOP hijinks, in Sunny California, in SAN FRANCISCO.... of all places....or just coincidence? A coincidence that has been edited out of the paper entirely?

Enquiring minds want to know!!!!
