Occupying Indy: Marchers protest economic inequalities, other issues
Source: Indianapolis Star

Nearly 1,000 people spent Saturday afternoon marching several blocks from Veterans Memorial Plaza to Monument Circle to protest what they believe is an unbalanced economic system and flawed government.

"This isn't a joking matter. This is our lives and jobs that we're fighting for," said Valerie Williams, 53. "There's a lack of job opportunities for many people."

The protest, called Occupy Indianapolis, was inspired by the Occupy Wall Street protest in New York.

2. OWS
Many of us who marched in the sixties are with you but unable
to physically get out there. I've sent funds for pizza and
pray for your protection. As this gets bigger and bigger I
know you guys will find ways the rest of us can help and then
vote, vote ,vote!

5. What I don't get:
Saturday evening, a young lady was interviewed by the local media, and gave a statement with a chorus repeating her words in the background, stating that they are in unison with each other and with OWS and therefore would not give individual interviews to any of the media. Yet, the next morning, 3 local stations had interviews with 3 different folks claiming to speak for Occupy Indy.

Mixed message & lack of discipline much, folks? :(

6. Possibly...
But it is also more likely that the OWS groups are growing so quickly that they need to focus that message on the newcomers. I was at Occupy San Diego over the weekend, and people were joining in on the march while we were going through the gaslamp. I didn't see one person against us, in our blood red county.

All I have to say is keep up the discussions and education in the General Assemblies. Truth is knowledge is power, and we the people need to spread this to everyone we know.

Keep the peace.
