U.S. says Iraq coalition is not crumbling
21 Apr 2004 16:30:10 GMT

By Steve Holland

WASHINGTON, April 21 (Reuters) - The White House insisted on Wednesday the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq was strong despite comments from staunch ally Poland that it may join three other nations in withdrawing troops.

On a day when at least 68 people died in suicide car bombings in southern Iraq, the Bush administration faced questions as to whether enough money was being allocated to fund U.S. military operations this year in Iraq.

Spain's decision a week ago to withdraw its 1,400 troops has triggered second thoughts among the original 34-nation coalition in Iraq. Honduras and the Dominican Republic have said they also are withdrawing troops.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said there have been "very strong statements of support" from nations like Britain, Poland, Japan, Italy, Portugal and others.

5. It's not crumbling..

It's merely a series of actionable items, which when sequenced together give an impression that gravity and the space time...ugh...ugh...

Fuck it..its crumbling.

8. There is known known crumbling - when allies leave and we know it.
There is also unknown known crumbling - we know allies may leave, but we don't know when.

There is also known unknown crumbling - we know of allies, and they may leave but we haven't heard that they will.

Then there is unknown unknown crumbling - allies we are not aware of who'll be leaving at some point unknown to us.

13. ummmm.....
falling apart is not the same as crumbling (technically)

so while it appears that the coalition of the willing are turning into the falling apart of the faltering, it's not a crumbling of cohorts...

11. OK, I GOOGLEd Pentagon images and yep, there are windows.
We know the WH has windows. Could someone in the DC area get a message to the bozos in charge of FUBARs to look out the windows! There is no coalition. Nobody is following us. Anybody with ethics is writing a book and any nation with a lick of sense is building a nuclear arsenal cuz it is evident we invade nations without WMD.

At some point, the Newt's lessons about repeating a lie until everyone believes it is true gives way to emergence of common sense. Round Rummy, the wolf, Rove, Scotty, and the rest of the jr. league up and I'll try to explain it to them once more...

18. Truth is
It was never a coalition at all. Day after day, press hacks talk about events that involve only American troops using the term "Coalition Forces". They've been trying to perpetuate the myth that this is some sort of Desert Storm-like crusade.

During Vietnam, South Korea and Australia also had troops in country, but everyone knows that was America's war, just like this on is.

21. They are right...but then again
It wasn't much of a coalition to begin with...after US you got about 9,000 Brits and then the numbers continue to shrink to such minuscule amounts like Honduras 300 troops (which ain't shit)

Don't anyone out there get your hopes that this force is going to be internationalized anytime soon because concerning E-Rack

And the continued and increasing attacks on coalition forces is clear evidence of just how successful the occupation is - under Hussein, Iraqis didn’t have the freedom to plant roadside bombs or to ambush soldiers and aid workers...god bless the USA for delivering the wonderful gift of democracy to the Iraqi people via 500-lbs bombs, depleted-uranium artillery rounds and armor piercing bullets....

/sarcasm throughout...
