Bush: U.S. Hard to Defend Against Terror
Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 01:35 PM by leftchick
Original headline was: Bush Pledges to Guide Iraq to Freedom
They sure changed it fast... :puke:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040421/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush&cid=544&ncid=1480

<snip>
Questioned about an Associated Press poll showing that two-thirds of Americans believe another attack is "somewhat likely" before the presidential election in November, Bush said: "I can understand why they think we're going to get hit again."

"They saw what happened in Madrid," he told executives of more than 1,500 Associated Press-member newspapers at the cooperative's annual meeting.

"Our intelligence is good. It's just never perfect, is the problem," Bush said.

The train bombings in Madrid occurred within a week of Spain's national elections.

Bush also acknowledged that the last few weeks in Iraq (news - web sites) have been "really rough," but he pledged not to lessen his administration's commitment to a free and Democratic Iraq.

1. Setting up his excuse
for the real attack after they stop the staged one. Anyways, that's what it sounds like to me.

6. And maybe if there weren't so damned many of these nettlesome freedoms
it would be so much easier to police the land and maybe stop such future attacks. See, had the Patriot Act already been the law of the land before 9-11, Ashcroft's lads at the FBI surely would have connected all those dots dancing around under their collective noses.

9. Or
Everyone better stay afraid, so we can keep the Patriot Act, and come November, don't forget to vote for the WARTIME president. Has a nice ring, doesn't it?

15. Setting up his excuse for LIHOP #2.
Watch out San Francisco. I think it's your turn because the Busheviks and the Bin Ladens hate your city for the same reasons.

4. Good grief! I just lost my lunch reading this one....
Excusing his incompetence in advance of another attack?
Pushing that secret energy bill, the tax cuts, etc.
This last part totally did me in.

Bush also defended his decision to support Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites)'s territorial plan in the Mideast, saying it included a major concession to the Palestinian: an Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip (news - web sites).

"The whole world should have said, `Thank you Ariel'," Bush said. Instead, he said, "There was kind of silence, wasn't there."

5. So, tell us, how is your "war on terrororism" working out for you,...
Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 01:42 PM by Just Me
,...'cause it sure as heck does NOT appear to be working out very well for the rest of the American people or the rest of the world, for that matter.

Did your unjust, unlawful war on Iraq help to defeat "terrorism" OR has it now not only unleashed but increased "terrorism"?

If possible, think before you open your piehole, Dubya!!!

16. And why is Al Queda in Iraq NOW, you ask?
Actually you won't ask because that would mean critical thinking is needed...something you seem to lack in abundance.

Do you believe Saddam had something to do with 911? If so then please enlighten the rest of us.

23. we better hope there is no attack and not just because of the dead
if there is one, rove will break open that war chest and try to use some don't change horses asses in the middle of the war arguement. that, i think, will be hard to beat.
