Woman's decapitation linked to web posts about Mexican drug cartel

Mexican police are investigating whether the death of a woman found decapitated at the Texan border is the third killing made in retribution for posts about drug cartels on social networking websites.

The woman, identified by local officials as Marisol Macías Castañeda, a newsroom manager for the Primera Hora newspaper, was found in Nuevo Laredo next to a handwritten note claiming she was murdered for posts about the Zetas cartel, which is believed to dominate the area's drug trade to Laredo, Texas.

Macías Castañeda held an administrative post at Primera Hora, not a reporting job, according to a colleague who wished to remain anonymous. But it was apparently what she posted on the social networking site Nuevo Laredo en Vivo (Nuevo Laredo Live), rather than her role at the newspaper, that prompted her murder.

The site prominently features tip hotlines for the Mexican army, navy and police, and includes a section for reporting the location of drug gang lookouts and drug sales points – possibly the information that angered the cartel.

Attack gangs in California? Posse Comitatus aside, we would probably still want to have some sort of trial, maybe, before shooting them.

Or, attach gangs in Mexico? I haven't heard that the Mexican government wants us to come in and shoot up the place, killing anyone who looks gangsta. Not that it doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

BUT, I am sure they will figure it out. The people that are fleeing up here are not only running from socioeconomic doom but from these vicious drug gangs. Honestly, I don't care what the government of Mexico wants. Every Time they try to solve it through their political and law enforcement officials, they get killed. Not just killed but decapitated with their genitals crammed in their mouths. I can't stress how vicious these cartels are.

With the decreased military spending, we could institute our gang units again that Bush dismembered for his pet wars.

9. Obama needs to get off his arse

The free flow of information around the Internet is a vital national intrest for the u.s.

For example what took place in Egypt and others.

If the world can sit and look what is happening a few miles south of the u.s. border then it doesn't set much of an example to the rest of the planet.

that would be unfortunate but livable with.

The fact that it is targeting the Internet is another ball-game entirely.

And the fact that the body was dumped on the Texas border would strongly suggest a point is being made.
