Walsh To Skip Obama Jobs Speech, Calls President 'Idiotic'
Source: Huffington Post

House Republican Joe Walsh, a Tea Party favorite from Illinois, will not be attending President Barack Obama's Sept. 8 jobs speech,
the Chicago Tribune reports.

“I don’t see the point of being a prop for another of the president’s speeches asking for more failed stimulus spending and more
subsidies for his pet projects," he said in a statement issued Thursday.

snip

“The president needs to stop the speeches, get out of his office and away from all the White House academics and start talking to real people
out there," Walsh said. "They’re the ones who are going to create the jobs, not White House paper-pushers and bureaucrats.”

snip

Walsh also criticized the president and his jobs plan earlier this week, according to the Northwest Herald. He called Obama "idiotic" while speaking
to a group of voters in Illinois on August 31.

6. I could only watch a few minutes .... he was really vile
He was blaming Obama for the national debt and calling an address to congress a political stunt.

Louie Gohmert, Jefferson Beauregard "Jeff" Sessions III, Eric Cantor, Joe "you lie" Wilson,
Michele Bachmann ....... there seems to be no end to their ignorant hatred.

3. Walsh is a MORON
He represents a district that is pretty much split between Democrats and Republicans, but Obama won it in 2008 I believe. With Obama on the ballot again next year, and a decent Democratic candidate, Walsh is probably toast. Say bye-bye, Walsh. Time to go get a real job now, you corporate tool.

4. Well I called his office and said he was disrespectful and
that democrats have never done this to a President. Such disrespect. I said you know what this really is a prejudiced inuendo. His bidding is with many who do not like the color of our President's skin. So then I said how dare you disrespect our President and then I said Walsh is a pig and hung up.

I was watching this deadbeat dad mouth off as many have at this President. My cousin said I can't stand Obama and his wife who wants to arrest parents for having fat kids (her grandkids are severely obese) and I said Michelle said no such thing. She said I don't want to talk about it I just can't stand them, I hate them.....She is a at home wife who watches...da da da dummmmmmmm FAUX NEWS! And so many are only educated to HATE Obama and it does go back to his color because this is not just about him as President. If Bush was to talk to Congress they would have all showed up. There is deep seated acknowledgement to those on the extreme right that are purely racist people..Betcha.

and I let the chickie have it. The phone was answered immediately so everyone CALL NOW!!!

She seemed surprised when I said that I highly doubted that he would EVER make these kinds of comments to a Republican President, or a white President. I said that a representative of the United States congress who showed such utter contempt and disrespect for the leader of our country has no business in office and that I hoped he got thrown in jail for not paying his child support - no surprise that he doesn't apparently care about his children either.

Evil, nasty hypocritical republicans. I'm sick to my stomach with every single one of the mf-ers. I'm really hot about this. If we don't GOTV in 2012 and turn this country back to sanity I really don't know what is to come of us. Republicans like this truly have seeds of fucking evil in them, I'm convinced of it. Decent humans just don't do this stuff, they just don't.

30. Hmm, Walsh's district, IL-8, seems to be a purple one.
It had a Republican for the first 12 years in its current place until 2005, when Melissa Bean (D) became the representative until the 2010 Tea Party takeover. In both 2000 and 2004, 55% of IL-8 voters voted for Bush. In 2008, 56% for Obama. I think that Joe Walsh has shown himself such an extremist and idiot in general he'll probably either win by a closer margin in 2012 than 2010 or be a one-termer.

34. Joe Walsh says Obama abusing his power with speech to Congress
Edited on Fri Sep-02-11 09:28 PM by TomCADem
Source: CBS News

If you thought the kerfuffle over President Obama's speech to Congress was over, you would be wrong.

Rep. Joe Walsh on Friday accused President Obama of abusing his power when he asked House Speaker John Boehner to address a joint session of Congress to outline his latest vision for how he wants to create jobs.

"There is no reason for him to call a joint session of Congress," the Illinois Republican said in an interview with MSNBC, "we reserve that for heads of states from dignitaries around the world and presidents in moments in crisis, and monumental moments."

"I believe he is abusing the position here," Walsh added.

Wonderful. The GOP will simultaneously prevent passage of Obama/Democratic economic initiatives, then insist that Obama's economic policies have failed. The GOP will demand that the President immediately address jobs, then ask for a delay of his address to accomodate "logistics." Then, they will say where is he on jobs, then say that calling a joint session to present a jobs program represents an abuse of power.

Why can they do this? Because no one holds them accountable. Blame Democrats, Give Republicans a Free Pass.

Until the American people start giving Republicans hell for their complete refusal to recognize any Democratic president as legitimate, they will continue to act the way they do. And, with the corporate media presenting their obstruction through the prism of false equivalency, Democrats will be equally blamed for federal government inaction that is mostly the fault of Republicans.

What's next? Impeachment proceedings against the President for his attempt to prompt Congress to take action on employment? Probably, because Republicans can get away with it. Its now Pavlovian that we blame Democrats, and give Republicans a free pass.
