WASHINGTON - Cynthia McKinney, who as a Georgia congresswoman suggested that the Bush administration had prior warning of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, says an independent commission's investigation into the matter justifies her concerns.

"What it proves is that we need to have answers to the question that I originally asked," McKinney said in an interview with The Associated Press.

McKinney said she was right to question what the White House knew before the attacks....

Her comments March 25, 2002.... were interpreted as suggesting that the White House allowed the attacks so investment groups specializing in defense contracts would benefit from an ensuing military buildup. She singled out the Carlyle Group, where Bush's father was an adviser.

"What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of Sept. 11?" McKinney said at the time. "Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered? What do they have to hide?"

if i got $1,000 from bu$h, i'd take it. shit, i'd be as stupid as he is if i didn't. but if he was to like keep giving me money for months, then i'd have to start asking myself, why.

8. If taking money from Saudi Arabia means you are not 'clean' then

most of the Congress should be removed. Besides, an African American running for office in this country can use money from any source. Judge her by her actions in Congress. She certainly didn't show Saudi Arabia any favortism that I can find. Besides, the Saudis are our allies...remember...Cheney even let the Saudi Prince know about our plans for invading Iraq before Powell or the Congress. That was Bush, not McKinney.

McKinney was correct to ask her original questions, and she is correct to ask them now when we know much more than we did immediately following 911. And yes, she deserves our support much more than do alleged Democrats Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman, Joe Biden, and Bob Kerrey.

I've not found any specific contributor who looks like someone who should be thrown into Guantanamo. Here's ONE of the contributors named, and he surely doesn't seem too terrifying to me:

"What do they have to hide?" IS NOT a part of McKinney's Quote. Look at the linked transcript. It's not said for another 10 minutes in the interview/20 column inches in the transcript. It's one thing to take a quote out of context. The AP instead cut and pasted words and phrases together here and there out of a very long interview and made their own quote up. If you do not cut and paste words together from all over the interview, you have the same questions the 9/11 Commissioners asked over and over and over and by the mainstream media in the mainstream press following 9/11.
