Prosecutors play tapes of polygamist leader instructing 14-year-old 'spiritual wife' on sex
Source: UPI via 700 WLW

SAN ANGELO, Texas, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs instructed his plural wives on group sex and being comfortable nude, a tape played in a Texas courtroom revealed.

The December 2004 recording of Jeffs was one of the last pieces of evidence presented by the prosecution at his trial on charges of sexual assault of a child, the Salt Lake Tribune reported Wednesday.

The charges against the 55-year-old leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints stem from marriages to girls 12 and 14-years-old.

In the 90-minute recording, Jeffs instructs 12 of his plural wives on group sex, becoming comfortable nude and how they should care for their body hair in what he called a "training."

:puke:

"If there's hair, I'm there" is not a valid prerequisite to marriage and/or sex.

3. I hope they nail his ass. I really do not care if they want more than
one wife at a time as long as those wives are all over 18 at the time of the marriage. He needs to support the children of these marriages and not expect others to help him. Though I wonder how Social Security would deal with survivors benefits for all these wives? Likewise welfare programs? He is a pervert any way you look at it.

5. Over 18 and with the real ability to walk away. And the boys must be supported
to age 18 as well!

Ironically, a lot of these guys support themselves by having the extra wives and children go on the welfare rolls.

8. I know about the welfare scenes. You are right that many of these
girls/women do not have choices in this religion. Especially this branch.

6. I liked this comment
GEE, how can anyone here claim he is not right? He says he speaks directly to God. How can you prove he does not? Many people who claim they speak either to or for God (the pope, TV Evangelists, politicians like Perry, Bachmann and Cain) are believed to actually be doing that. What makes them special - and OK in your eyes - but this clown just has to be the one phoney in the bunch? He has as much evidence as the others.

Is it just because you don't like him screwing 12 year olds? Well he can make a biblical case for it just like those who want to stone gays or convert Jews or kill Muslims or run the US into the ground. They all can make their case using Gods word. Why pick on this one guy?

says it all, for me.

19. Great find.
I've often wondered why some people can get away saying they heard God telling them to do something, while others can't.

10. I could vote for that
Sigh. The ONLY way I've become more conservative over my many years is to begin to have second thoughts in some cases about being universally against the death penalty.

9. Jon Krakauer authored a book which deals with Mormon Fundamentalism
Under the Banner of Heaven

For those interested, the New York Times did a 4-page review of it:

11. I recommend it as well.
My brother gave it to me for Christmas one year, and I think I read the entire thing in one or two sittings the same day. It's both fantastically written, and the most disturbing thing I've ever read.

21. Same here
That this sort of thing is happening in 2011 in this country was very eye-opening. The book itself is extremely well written and reads more like a novel. I highly recommend.

14. I feel pretty confidant that you wouldn't regret it.
It compares "regular" Mormonism with the Fundamentalist variety via the story of a murder committed by fundamentalist Mormons.

Krakauer's writing is excellent.

18. one of my all-time favorite books
Absolutely riveting. As soon as I finished it I went right back to the beginning and read it all again.

One of the things I liked about his writing is that he doesn't make any excuses for his own actions, and is actually somewhat more critical of himself than others involved.

The descriptions of every aspect of the conditions and the climb really make me wonder what in the world possess people to even want to climb Everest (or any other mountain with similar conditions) much less spend the scads of money it takes and make the attempt at all.

23. Then they played a recording he made of himself actually having sex with a 12 year old.
http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Jurors+hear+tape+between+sect+leader+girl/5203683/story.html

Prosecutors finished presenting their sexual assault case against polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs on Wednesday by playing a recording of his alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl for jurors.

<snip>

Hanna said the rape of the 12-year-old girl took place in the temple, a large white structure that towers over the other buildings on the sprawling ranch, which Jeffs built in the rural cattle country starting in 2003.

"She experienced the heavenly session and obtained a greater testament," Hanna quoted Jeffs as writing about his sexual encounter with the girl. "She felt the all-consuming fire of heaven."

The jury listened to an audio recording that Jeffs secretly made of the encounter, in which the voices of both Jeffs and the girl can be heard. Jeffs can be heard breathing heavily. At the end of the recording, both the girl and Jeffs say "Amen."

Second off, he apparently thinks very highly of his bedroom skills.

Third off, this guy needs to be given the express judicial route to Old Sparky.

25. "The all-consuming fire of heaven?"
Is that what we're calling vaginal tearing these days?

The State of Utah says it quit using the firing squad to execute its scumbags. Maybe for this guy they should make an exception.

instructing him on the finer points of sex? He don't look all that muscular to me and I'd wager his new name is "punky".
