N.H. officer charged with DWI erupted after arrest
Source: BDN

SALISBURY, Mass. — A Seabrook, N.H., police officer charged with driving while intoxicated after he allegedly smashed into another car told arresting officers that if the same situation happened in his town, they wouldn’t be arrested.

When local officers informed Seabrook Sgt. Mark Preston that he was under arrest Sunday night, he exploded, according to a police report by Salisbury patrolman Timothy Hunter filed in Newburyport District Court.

“What about the brotherhood? This is . Why aren’t you taking me home?” Preston said, according to the report. “If this happened in Seabrook, we would take care of you guys. This is ridiculous. You guys are a joke. I am a 30-year sergeant and you are going to do this to me? Really? My life and my career are over. I hope you guys are happy.”

After Preston was booked, police escorted him to a cell, where he erupted again, according to the report.

the guy is an ass, and the rest of the story is worth the read. Injured someone, left the scene on foot.

3. I think it proves that the "brotherhood"
doesn't exist in every police department.

2. "..[Y]ou are going to do this to me?... I hope you guys are happy." Sounds like he
can't accept responsibility for his own actions and is tossing blame all over the place.

9. Well he was drunk and just survived an accident.
So I bet he was a little disturbed at the time.

4. He outed himself. This idea of the "brotherhood" is destructive.
It creates a class of servants to the powerful who can get away with murder along as they continue the charade of "serving the public".
A DWI is a DWI, even when a cop does it. Sgt. Preston should lose his job.

11. One town is crazier than the other
Remember Pam Smart? She came from Seabrook. We call em Brookies. The nuke plant is in Seabrook. Salisbury has the lovely "beach" lined with strip clubs, etc.

8. I very much believe that Preston is telling the truth about that.
One night I was with two friends. We were in someones house when we heard a crash outside. We went out and my friends car was gone. Some guy driving down this long straight road slammed into it. The car went through a fence into a creek! The cops came. The driver that hit it looked drunk or worse. He was a firefighter. The cops didn't drug test him or anything. I'm 99% sure that guy was drunk, but the "brotherhood" saved him. We were 18-19 at the time and it was a 100% his fault accident, but I would have thrown a fit if there was any question as too fault.

12. That A-hole cop has a wicked case of Republicon Family Values
thinks he is freaking special, and somehow merits the standard Free Pass from Responsibility that Republicons are so well know and despised for.
