(WI)Democratic chairman: 1.4 million voters contacted
Source: La Crosse Tribune

MADISON — The chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party says 1.4 million voters have been contacted in advance of the eight state Senate recall elections and 730,000 people will be contacted this weekend.

Party Chairman Mike Tate says internal polling shows three Democratic challengers to Republican incumbents ahead with three others in a dead heat. All six of those elections will be decided on Aug. 9.

It's a short article so this is all I'm excerpting. Interesting, though, that the pukes are trying to play this as Tate just fluffing up numbers to drive momentum.

That's pretty lame. I think she forgot her talking points.

....Recall polls show Democratic pickups likely but takeover remains hard
Jack Craver on Monday 08/01/2011 4:11 pm

According to one Democratic legislator I recently talked to, internal polls recall campaigns have been conducting reveal a mixed picture for the Democratic effort to retake the State Senate.

For instance, candidate Jess King is apparently not polling as well against Randy Hopper, who Dems assumed would be the second most likely takedown, as expected. According to the legislator, that race has gone from being the number 2 race for Dems to the number 3 or number 4.

In contrast, despite "shooting himself in both feet," Fred Clark is a source of hope for Democrats in his race against Luther Olsen, and now at least some Dems are speculating that Olsen could be the second most likely victim, after Sen. Dan Kapanke (R-La Crosse), whose political obituary has been ready for print ever since his vote on the budget repair bill. Kapanke, unlike the five other GOP targets, represents a typically Democratic district. ...................

11. Sadly, I fear next week will be a miserable failure
They still have the voting machines, the purges, AFP, the media, and the judges. That didn't stop me from sending money to the WI Dems, but I am fairly certain that once the "results" are finalized, we're going to have another kick in the teeth. Seriously, if we can't beat Hopper, who isn't even eligible to represent his district because he lives permanently in Madison with his whore, the outlook is bleak. I also wonder why the president isn't in WI campaigning, except that maybe he's not welcome because of the "walkin' shoes" debacle. And of course, our alleged AG is letting the election theft run wild while he chases pot smokers.

Can we recover emotionally from a shellacking in WI next week? A lot of people have put a lot of time & money into this.

2. Maybe this will serve as a double reminder
1. Democrats, do *not* forget to vote in all local, city, and state elections -- keep your state fully Democratic or Wisconsin *Can* happen to you.
2. Republicrats, this is your future. Your all-for-the-rich and none-for-the-rest policies will get you kicked out of office en masse.

6. Fortunately...no one. We don't need a messy primary criticizing ourselves and a split in our party.
We can't do anything that jeopardizes our chances of a Democratic win. Yes, I'm annoyed and greatly disappointed in obama but what's the alternative...a ReThug and another conservative SCJ? Try to swallow that! I'll take Obama any day. Talk of primarying him is just talk. Not gonna happen. He's the best we're got!
Get on board and help this train out of the station.

7. Knowing his true record to date, can you honestly say he's the best we've got???
He unilaterally threw out Single Payer weeks before any debate started.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpAyan1fXCE or do your own youtube search "Obama single payer" and you'll find several videos where he promises, promises, promises

Some of his other broken promises:

Politifact's take on the President's promises so far: (there are 3 pages of broken promises)

Honestly? He's the best we've got?

8. Do you have any suggestions? I'm up to hearing them.
Do you honestly think anyone could at this point develop organization and contributors at this late date to beat Obama in a primary? I'm afraid a primary would just weaken the Democratic party.

9. Do you honestly think that Obama believes he's got the cajones for this job?
He's in it for HIM, not us. The President spends most of his time bending over backwards for the lunatic right fringe. If you honestly think that he is Presidential material then someone has changed the meaning of that word.

I sent the President letters every week asking him to do the honorable thing, decline the nomination and announce it well before the 2012 election:

"I will not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for the office of President of The United States."

As far as a primary contender... it's not 11/2012 yet. We still have plenty of time for "Our" President to wake up and smell the coffee. And if he continues to selfishly focus only on his political career instead of what's best for the Party and the Nation then we need someone to primary the crap out of our Capitulator In Chief.

10. You still didn't answer my question. WHO do you think
could run against Obama? I'd really like to know. Lot's of people talk about dumping him, but I haven't heard of one single viable person mentioned to run against him. I've even been wondering who we could nominate in 2016.

I think it should be someone *well to the left* of President Obama. Perhaps Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, or Jeb Bush.

13. So admit it...you can't answer my question.
You know there is no one any better. You may not like him but he's the best and only one we have. So suck it up and get on the bus...or you'll get run over by those guys you say are "left of Obama".

14. I can think of several
But since you are determined to be a PTA I don't feel the need to entertain you any further.

The only truth that you need to know right now is that the Obama Presidency has been Bush's Third Term. Nothing has changed. Deal with it.
