Fox & cat confirmed SARS carriers

BEIJING, April 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese scientists have found that the coronavirus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS) is also carried by foxes and cats, not just civets, according to the Guangzhou Evening Newspaper.

Lin Jinyan, the leader of a SARS control and prevention research team in south China's Guangdong Province, reported in a seminar held in Guangzhou that other wild animals were also found to carry the virus.

5. This is nothing new

If you have the flu and hold your cat, the cat can acquire it from you. The reason being is normal running temp for a human is 98.6 degrees. The feline normal running temp is 99.1 degrees, that is a half degree from homo sapiens. A dogs normal running temp is 101.5 (sick as a dog). If you or your cat had a 101.5 degree temp we would be running a fever which the flu virus cannot survive in a host of that temperature. Sars is a virus pneumonia (as opposite to a bacterial pneumonia) just like one can attain a virus pneumonia from the common flu.
