Herman Cain: Communities should be able to ban mosques
Source: Raw Story with Video inclusion for direct quotes

"Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said Sunday that any community should be able to ban mosques because there is a big difference between Islam and "our other traditional religions."

What a fool this Herman Cain is! He's such a bigoted hypocrite!

No I'm not a Muslim, and I don't practice a religion, but I stand up for the rights of the religious.

3. Why not stop there
Why don't Herman Cain ban synagogues, temples, shrines, masjids, cathedrals or even churches in the community. Does Cain know what a "typical" mosque look like. His anti-Muslim obsession is very absurd. I guess it serves 2 purposes : To scare the (gullible) white folks and seem just right wing enough as a Black man for the Teapublican bosses. As a Black man myself, Cain is a shame!

6. But on the other hand...
Pizzaman sez:
""No, I will not. And here's why. There is this creeping attempt, there is this attempt to gradually ease Sharia law and the Muslim faith into our government,"

But on the OTHER hand, Cain and his fellow occupants of the Tea Party Clown Car (formerly known as the GOP) have *NO* problem whatsoever with easing Levitical law and a Rushdoony-style Dominionist "faith" into our government.

I'd be in favour of banning *ALL* houses of worship, if only because they pay no taxes.

9. This is outrageous
The religio fundies are having a field day here nowadays. I wonder what happened to sane people.
The funny part is that Islam and Christianity have more in common than they do with other religions(except Judaism).

10. The easiest way to push people to violence is to keep pushing
them into a corner. Accept them into your home and heart, and you will find they will be less likely to harm you.

England has treated the Muslims and Hindi with contempt for decades, then wonder why they have bombed buses and trains. Same goes for France and Germany. It hasn't been the first generation of Muslim immigrants that have rioted, it was their children who have been frustrated that they have not been allowed to fit into the land of their birth. Why should they care if the cities burn, there's nothing in there for them.

We will never be completely safe, but how we treat others can enhance our safety, or imperial us.

14. "Our Constitution guarantees separation of church and state," Cain explained. "Islam combines church
and state." I don't agree with the Islam combining church and state but I bet his potential voters might be interested in the first part of this statement since they love to argue the constitution does not say that.

18. I'd like to give him a pencil and paper and draw what a Muslim looks like
Betcha there would be an assortment of guns and bombs in the drawing.

And probably a white Christian baby in the Muslim's mouth.

22. That would mean that predominately Muslim communities can ban churches
this is not a wise move Herman.

Besides, banning a religion almost never achieves the desired goal.

Let everyone practice whatever crazy beliefs they have as long as they don't violate any laws and if you like you can protest the ones you really disapprove of.

It also includes freedom from religion
