Reuters: RT @WSJ: Breaking: Les Hinton, chief executive of News Corp.'s Dow Jones & Co. unit, is to resign today. http://wsj.com

By RUSSELL ADAMS

Les Hinton, who headed News Corp.'s News International unit when the phone-hacking allegations roiling the media empire first arose, on Friday will resign his post as chief executive officer of Dow Jones & Co., according to a person familiar with the matter.

Mr. Hinton had come under increasing scrutiny recently as a cascade of allegations indicated the problems at the center of the scandal were more widespread than he had twice led a parliamentary committee to believe.

In 2007 and 2009, Mr. Hinton told the committee that the company had carried out a full investigation into the matter and was convinced just one of its journalists was involved.

1. I wonder if we should keep track of the jumpers
before they crawl back into their nests. For later.

a crime against humanity.

24. Code Pink made an excellent one. But I just remembered something.
Greg Mitchell is blogging this at The Nation so, whatever we need, he'll have on his blog.

If ol' Ruprecht's mother were still alive, he'd throw her under the bus in order to save his own pasty backside.

5. Fifty years?
That's like pedophile priests or murderers who didn't finally get arrested until their 70's or 80's.

Before anyone jumps, I am not equating this guy with a murderer or pedophile. I'm just saying I don't like it when people live a fairly long life pretty much as they wish before justice catches up with them. (Apparently, she is a really slow walker. Then again, I would be too if I were blindfolded.)

50 years is a long time to be in bed with Murdoch.

11. Give him the cell next to Bradley Manning
Just because Murdoch's hackers wear suits doesn't mean we can't give 'em a little solitary confinement.

14. Its easier to
depos an employee than a non or ex-employee. Murdock's lawyers are trying to distant themselves but also make to harder for investigators to investigate. They are also destroying any paper trail especially in the US. Murdock doesn't want his lying empire to fold or become much lesser because it will be harder for the right wing nutso to get their ugly message out. I would love to see a lot of the right wing radio stations close or at least make it equal to center and progressives.
