David VanderLeest won't talk about past legal, financial issues any more
11:00 PM, Jul. 14, 2011

GREEN BAY — The Republican candidate running against Sen. Dave Hansen in Tuesday's recall race vowed not to raise taxes and said he no longer would answer questions about his troubled past, including revelations he owes $25,000 in unpaid property taxes.

David VanderLeest of Green Bay signed a pledge Thursday morning outside the Brown County Courthouse that he would not increase taxes if elected to the state Senate.

VanderLeest also indicated he did not want to discuss his legal and financial problems that have become the subject of multiple television ads from liberal groups.

VanderLeest said his tax situation is a personal issue that doesn't outweigh Hansen's decision to leave the state to block a vote on Gov. Scott Walker's bill to end collective bargaining powers for most public employees.

4. Tax dodging is soooo Republicon. They just refuse to do their part as citizens
Why do Republicons hate Wisconsin and America?

Why do they think they are 'special' and can shirk their fair share?

7. Wow, a tax evader that promises not to raise taxes...
nothing new here...typical of so many WI repubs...the reason they hate taxes is because they got caught not paying theirs...they're privileged - don't you know?

Vanderleest - Crack, Pot? Damn the Interviews!

Friday, 15 July 2011 11:07 Paul I. Tascoupe

Green Bay Wisconsin -- This morning on Wisconsin Public Radio, Senator Dave Hansen and Candidate David Vanderleest took to the airwaves. Hansen and Vanderleest were each given approximately 30 minutes to address the issues and to make their case for why the citizens of the 30th district should vote for them in the July 19th recall election.

It was of no surprise that Senator Hansen spoke of issues facing Wisconsin now and in the future. Hansen stood by his decision to remove his vote from the Senate floor in order to give the citizens of Wisconsin time to absorb Walker’s Draconian budget bill. The incumbent Senator gave confident and well reasoned responds to questions posed by radio host Joy Cardin and her listeners.

As David Vanderleest took his turn on the air, he really had nothing of relevance to say in regard to the issues facing Wisconsin. He made claims of being a man that will represent the people of the 30th district but in the same breath talked about his admiration for Scott Walker’s budget and union stripping legislation. He also denounced Senator Hansen for constitutionally removing his vote from the Senate floor but failed to denounce the Republican legislature for it's illegal use of State Police services in order to hunt down the 14 Democratic Senators. He also reaffirmed his political stance as a “wanna-be rubberstamp” for Walker.
