Putin says U.S. monetary policy "hooliganism"
Source: Xinhua

MOSCOW, July 11 -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin criticized the U.S. monetary policy on Monday, calling it "hooliganism," local media reported.

"We, thankfully or not, cannot print a reserve currency. But what are they (the Americans) doing? They simply spit nails, turn on the printing press and throw money to the world, in order to resolve their urgent problems," Putin told members of the Russian Academy of Science in Moscow.

While exploiting its monopoly on issuing a global reserve currency at full scale, the United States asked Russia to obey a strict financial discipline, he added.

Russia is unlikely to resolve the problems it faces by covering the budget deficit with printing extra money, Putin said.

1. I'd be perfectly happy to let Putin have 5 minutes alone in a room with Bernanke.
No questions asked.

3. Yes. Bernanke and Geithner are just there to make sure
no effort is made to reclaim the stolen money from those who actually stole it. They are the lookout men, watching while Obama drives the getaway car.

The Republican bankers are waiting in a secure location until the loot has been retrieved from where they hid it during the Bush administration, and the getaway car pulls up in front of their door.

The most perfect crime ever in the history of mankind and it will soon be completed.

Meanwhile, millions of baby boomers who will soon be needing Social Security . . . .

Oh, never mind. Why should we worry about those baby boomer deadbeats.

:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

The bankers and others in charge...as well as those who will soon need Social Security.

7. Rich boomers. Not regular boomers.
A lot of baby boomers thought they were saving for retirement when they bought houses. Now the value of housing has dropped and you can't sell to raise retirement income. So, there went some retirement funds.

Of course, Geithner and Bernanke do not have to worry about that.

I have a few friends who are wealthy. I'm thinking in particular of a widow whose husband made quite a fortune in entertainment. She can't understand what is wrong with others who are not off spending away. So we have a big disparity in incomes that leads to a disparity in opinions on the economy. The rich are doing better than ever. The poor are doing very badly. And the rich could care less. Geithner and Bernanke are not poor and never will be (or so they think).
