Public Safety Commissioner Rich Stanek resigned under pressure Friday, bowing to new criticism over a 12-year-old admission in a deposition that he used racial slurs and told racist jokes.

Stanek, appointed by Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty, faced a contentious confirmation in the DFL-controlled Senate. Lawmakers were prepared to question the Minneapolis police officer about police brutality lawsuits he has been named in, as well as his comments about racial minorities.

If ANY nonprofit dared question the police, Stanek would try to destroy their state funding. He literally is that much of a facist.
