Bush and Blair Praise U.N. Plan for Iraq
WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites), with a strong second from British Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites), signaled support Friday for an interim government to take power in Iraq (news - web sites) on June 30 and said the plan under development by a U.N. envoy is "broadly acceptable to the Iraqi people."

The authority of the coalition backed by the United States will expire on the June 30 deadline previously set, Bush said, adding that American- and British-dominated military forces "will remain in Iraq to help the new government succeed."

1. Any mention seen in reports, etc. of what the UN's Brahimi plan is?
and I mention that it is a UN plan for obvious reasons. We don't seem to have a plan other than the next Operation Vigilant Crusade.

They...said the plan under development by a U.N. envoy is "broadly acceptable to the Iraqi people."

Who says? Are we just supposed to take their word for it?

We know from past experience exactly how much their word is
worth. Almost nothing.

Who knows, it might be that this is what the Iraqi people want,
but how did they arrive at this conclusion?

Did they do a poll? Did they let people vote on it?
What? How do we know this is true?

4. They both should be ashamed and the world should be embarrassed
Bad-mouthing the UN, refusing to listen to the UN before invading Iraq. We invade, f**k things up so badly that we can't see a way out and now want the UN to bail us out. This my friends is a sign of "weakness."
Do not equate 'weakness' with 'fire power' we have plenty of fire power. But we are morally, politically, intellecutally and strategically weak!

5. Dubya must be grasping at straws.
From what I've heard, the UN plan differed significantly from what Dubya had wanted.

what could possibly have changed his mind (flip-flop) so quickly?
