GOP outside group spending millions to attack Obama on economy
Source: CBS News

Crossroads GPS, one of the large outside political organizations that changed the political landscape with millions of dollars of advertisements aimed at Democrats running for office in 2010, is back with a new ad taking aim at President Obama.

The ad, starting Monday, will run over the next two months and includes a $5 million buy on national cable channels and local stations in key swing states including Colorado, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada and Virginia.

It's part of a $20 million initiative from Crossroads "to frame the national debate on jobs, the economy and the national debt."

* * *
Crossroads, the first major political organization to take advantage of new campaign finance rules established by the Supreme Court in ruling last year, spent tens of millions of dollars on ads throughout the 2010 midterm election attacking Senate and House Democratic incumbents and some Democratic challengers running for Congress. The group is associated with Karl Rove, the former Senior Adviser for President George W. Bush, and a frequent target for Democratic attacks on Republican political tactics.

7. that's GOP slang for plans to attack bc & abortion, gays & public education
when they say "to frame the national debate on jobs, the economy and the national debt."

That's what they said in the run up to the 2010 elections & what we got is in my title.

8. Speaking of 'Employment'.
The Good'ol Boy republicans no doubt consider
this creating 'Jobs'. Hiring People to spew
utter stupidity. Which millions will believe.
That republican Riff Raff could talk of nothing
else before that 2010 Farce of an Election. I
watched, while Voters, voted the very same ones
who destroyed the Economy, back into Office.
Whats even worse, is watching the Voters expect
anything to change. Analogous to Chickens Voting
for Colonel Sanders. Insanity is doing the same
thing over and over, and expecting a different
result. American Politics is Pure Theater in
that respect. How can a Sane Human Being Vote
for a Sarah Palin? Or a Santorum? Ridiculous.

Those Creatures have created Absolute ZERO Employment
Opportunities for the American People. Besides Pay
Off their Corporate Pimps, and Verbally Abuse the
President, they have little time for Employment or
any other Urgent Issues.

9. Remember they don't have a PLAN for America
What pukes. Its easy to attack and not have a plan yourself that doesn't include the same failed conservative economics that got us here.

They're not in charge.

That's also not an excuse for the guy who is in charge.

10. Then maybe he should have been more proactive
Easier to defend your backside if you're moving faster than the guys who would attack it.

He's the one who should have the bully pulpit. Why did he give it away?

Then again, he does have Geithner and Bernanke on his team. :sarcasm:

15. Hmm...didn't they run on this in 2010?
"to frame the national debate on jobs, the economy and the national debt."

Looks to me like a waste of some $20 million, since the only thing they have done is work on social issues, and have done an extremely poor job on that. WI is about to go through a recall election to oust GOP slugs; other states are in an uproar about a lack of jobs and attacks on social programs, the GOP is in a very precarious position.

Since the GOP has no plans for jobs, better the economy or reduce the national debt, (a great way would be get out of the wars), I see a massive failure in this strategy. We may well be watching the death knell of the GOP. Best part is, they will paying for their own funeral...:D
