'Aristide to Seek Permanent Asylum in South Africa'

Ousted Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide could end his temporary exile in Jamaica next week to take permanent asylum in South Africa, an official said.

The former president is “nearing completion” of his travel arrangements, though he has not settled on an exact date, said Huntley Medley, Mr Aristide’s government appointed media liaison.

“He could leave as early as next week,” Mr Medley told The Associated Press. “It’s just a matter for him to decide.”

Aristide fled Haiti on February 29 amid a rebel advance on the capital, Port-au-Prince.

2. And these are the people who have the support of France and the U.S.
It's all so blatant - and yet there are still people who will believe
the lies.

The list of crimes against other peoples is getting so long, but
where are the cries of outrage from Europe, from the U.N?
