Tsunami warning issued.

http://www.rte.ie/news/2011/0622/japan.html

Japan has issued a tsunami alert after a magnitude-6.7 earthquake struck in the northeast of the country, rattling the areas hardest hit by the 11 March quake and tsunami disasters.

The meteorological agency said the latest jolt hit at 6.51am 50 km (31 miles) off the east coast of Miyako, Iwate prefecture, at a depth of 20 kilometres in the Pacific.

An advisory warning of a possible tsunami of up to 50 cm in height has been issued and authorities have warned residents of areas devastated by the 11 March earthquake to be wary of mudslides.

2. There have been dozens and dozens of mag 6 quakes in the last 100 days.
Possibly over 100, actually.

3. Damn!
Goldman said there was no tsunami warning in effect, contrary to other reports.

4. wasn't there a big spike in frequency before the BIG one?
IIRC, there was a LOT of medium to higher end 6's in the area within a few days leading up to the March 11 quake.

:scared:

not feeling good about this
