Washington state’s Democratic governor, Chris Gregoire, won’t seek re-election to third term
Source: Associated Press

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire has announced she is not running for re-election to a third term.

Gregoire, a Democrat, made the announcement Monday in Olympia, saying she intends to work hard the next 18 months to pull Washington state out of the recession. She says, “We’re not stopping.”

Gregoire says she has no plans after leaving office except to spend more time with her family. She says she’ll do everything she can to support the re-election of President Barack Obama, “but that doesn’t mean I’m looking for a job.”

3. I'd love to see Jay Inslee in there.
Love, love, love! I'm not thrilled with Gregoire, but would probably vote for her again if she had been the nominee because she's better than any Republican in this state.

4. Run, Jay, Run!
I, too, would like to see him run for Governor. What an excellent alternative he would be to the right-wingers that are offered up in other states. The last thing that the State of Washington needs now is to swing back to some Rethug idiot campaigning on their pet hypocrisies of "fiscal responsibility", "family values" and "free market principles". Inslee is a big proponent of the emerging Green Economy. I would love to see Washington become a leader in that field.
