SPRINGERVILLE, AZ - Smoke from the Wallow Fire has blown into parts of New Mexico throughout the week, but flames are moving across state lines as well.

The fire began spotting in New Mexico Friday night and 150 additional firefighters and several fire engines were sent to bolster forces already waiting in the neighboring state, officials said.

Concern about hazardous levels of air pollution spread beyond northeastern Arizona.

Winds were expected to continue carrying the plume across western and central New Mexico to the Albuquerque and Santa Fe metropolitan areas, the National Weather Service said.

Absolutely horrible. Thinking of New Mexico DU'ers and families. Stay safe.

2. Dang. I was hoping they were starting to get a handle on this one.
It's been a real nuisance. Gets better, then gets worse again...

Makes it very difficult to do anything outdoors for any length of time.

Keeping fingers crossed for Catron County and points southwest.

wearily,
Bright

3. I live in Santa Fe, and the smoke is terrible.
I can't even imagine what it's like closer over toward AZ, and there are people who have already lost their homes. Normally, the sky here is a piercing blue, but today it looked like LA air. So sad.
