<<Nancy Lessin and Charley Richardson of Massachusetts, parents of a Marine who served in Iraq, founded the group two years ago, and reported that its membership had reached 1500 military families seeking an end to the conflict.

<snip>

Sue Niederer of New Jersey, whose son was killed in Iraq, brandished a sign inscribed, "Murderer, coward, face the families" and accused the president of being "unfeeling and unrealistic."

Jessica Salamon of Ohio, whose husband is in Iraq, wept as she spoke of her dread that he would never return, while Annette Pritchard of Oregon, whose 19-year-old nephew died in Iraq two months ago, said, "They called him a hero but he was a victim."

Rosa Gonzalez from Rialto, Calif., whose Marine son was killed as a result of friendly fire in Iraq, asserted, "The president doesn't take the consequences of this. I invite him to come to my home and be in my shoes for one moment.">>

2. many here on Du are now saying we have to stay in Iraq
mostly I suppose because Kerry seems to feel that way. In order to save the Iraqi's from the mess we are in. I'd like to know your feelings Mari333 since you son is in Iraq what are you feelings. They are much more pertinent then the rest of ours.

5. that's what I thought
I'm so sorry your son is in Iraq. I don't know what it's like but I do have 2 sons looking at the draft possibly. I hope something can happen and the troops can come home soon. Bless you Mari333 and I hope the best for your son and your family.

4. I want America out of Iraq immediately
Who interfered in our civil war?

How dare we tell another country how to govern against their will.

7. If we were willing to share
the 'spoils of war' which is why we are REALLY there, there would be lots of other nations who would come in. I'm not sure if we should make such a mess and then pull out and leave the ordinary Iraqi to the biggest bully. If we get bush out of there, I think we can come up with a solution that stops the killings and gives control of Iraq to the Iraqi people. It remains to be seen if the "powers that be" in the US and elsewhere will give up the loot. I don't have confidence that Kerry will pull us out but hopefully he will invite others in to help. And if I had a child there, I'd want them to come home NOW. Not one more death for bush's oil.
