One third of world's food is wasted, says UN study
Source: BBC

It also says industrialised countries must stop throwing so much away.

3. Cheesecake factories?
I was thinking more that vermin control or the lack thereof, bad storage, perishables expiring uneaten and fuel production were the top causes.

5. I never understood how "cleaning your plate" was supposed to help feed hungry people.
Shouldn't there just be less food served on the plate?

That will help with national obesity too.

8. industrialized countries should not allow their corporations
to put such a hold on the transportation of consumable food from developing nations so that such food rots on the ground because it can't be shipped anywhere.
