Scientists link oil on dolphins to BP spill

BILOXI, Mississippi — Scientists confirmed on Thursday that they have discovered oil on dead dolphins found along the U.S. Gulf Coast, raising fresh concerns about the effects of last year's BP oil spill on sea life.

Fifteen of the 406 dolphins that have washed ashore in the last 14 months had oil on their bodies, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists said during a conference call with reporters.

The oil found on eight of those dolphins has been linked to the April 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, scientists said.

"It is significant that even a year after the oil spill we are finding oil on the dolphins, the latest just two weeks ago," said Blair Mase, southeast marine mammal stranding coordinator for NOAA Fisheries.

6. Oil on dolphins? CAIN'T be! The gummit and BP both agree that

the small tiny amount of oil spilled has all been perfectly and completely cleaned up and accounted for.

In fact, the Gulf is probly cleaner now than before the spill, by gawd.


See? If I wasn't afraid there's an actual hell, and if I had no conscience at all, I coulda been a highly paid spokesman for these assholes! Don't even have to use a brain!

Multiply each found carcass by fifty. That would also imply that over one hundred and fifty Gulf sperm whales have died, well past the three estimated to be the tipping point for extinction.

I was afraid that this would be covered up as whenever the dolphins wash ashore, they are quickly 'disappeared' and shipped out of state.

Funny when the EPA that radiation from Japan is minimal the tin foil hat crowd accuses a cover up. That government, in this case NOAA, reaches they like and it's accepted without question. Am I the only one that notices this?

16. UGA researcher found oil sitting on Gulf bottom

Minor studies from 3 other reserachers said Oil is gone,
broken/eaten-up by microbes - all is good.
Univ-GA research did large volume of soundings, found
oil was 1-4 inches thick, on Gulf bottom, one pool approx
22miles X 9 miles. Killed all the bottom life such as crabs,
hatching fish, etc. You can find it easily via google, but did
not get big play on National news. So it's not important.
