McCain turns down V.P.
It's official. McCain just told Russert that not only will he not be Kerry's V.P, but he is officially campaigning for Bush and will cast his vote for GW.

28. He disagrees with most of Bush's decisions but is supporting him
Of course he is and always has been for the attack on Iraq so he disregards everything else he doesn't agree with. If he had America's best interest's at heart, he would not be able to support Bush...Why would Democrats want someone like that as a V.P. candidate?...The man is duplicitous!...I've never trusted him....He's a phony...

2. Was he ever offered it?
Either way it's a relief not to have him considered a choice.

4. Dude, you can spin with the best of them!
I wasn't even aware that Kerry had decided on a running mate, let alone offered that spot to John McCain. :eyes:

I'm referring to "turns down" -- :wtf: He can't turn down what hasn't -- WOULDN'T -- be offered to him.

34. latest breaking news?
I was watching TV, saw that McCain was turning down even a prospective offer, which I thought people would want to know, considering in the past week I have seen people talking about whether it would be a good pairing.

37. Speak for yourself
It's always great to see the recent come here and speak for us all. If you took a poll, you'd find that maybe, maybe 15% would consider McCain, consider, the rest would flush his Repube ass along with the rest. Of that 15%, 2/3's are trolls.

(and I can't see that ever happening) I wouldn't vote for either of them. His whoring on MTP this morning convinced me I wouldn't want to see him anywhere near the WH.

reached across the aisle for a running mate, its not working. While I respect John, I dont think he has a grasp of the issues that have been put into play by this administration.

I have voted in every election since I was 18 and I have ALWAYS voted for the democrat, but I swear if I thought Kerry was even for a second considering McCain I would sit this one out. The media really needs to put this Kerry/McCain business to rest.

29. Isn't that the truth.
And considering he is the one leading the fight to outlaw the 527's because of this own McCain-Feingold bill, Kerry would be committing political suicide by choosing as a VP the man who is saying that a huge percentage of his contributions are illegal. And McCain would get skewered for being a hypocrite for running on "illegal" money.

McCain is MPD, he goes from accusing Bush of spending like a drunken sailor one moment to climbing up his behind the next. It's bizarre

This is so insulting to democrats. I'd take Clarke, Edwards, Dean, Kucinich...any of the candidates.

Russert is such a joke.

35. You can't turn down what you weren't offered...
That's a misleading headline. The poster should change the headline as it's based on his/her interpretation of what was discussed on MTP and nothing more. McCain was NOT offered the VP! Why would the Democrats offer an extreme Right Wing zealot the VP?! Why not offer Jeb Bush the VP slot!!! Ridiculous!

Moderators: The misleading headline in the originating post should be changed.
