Swept-away man identified as former Oregon resident
Source: Associated Press

CRESCENT CITY — Authorities have released the name of man who was swept out to sea during Friday's tsunami in Northern California.

Del Norte County Sheriff Dean Wilson says Dustin Webber was swept away and disappeared while taking pictures of the tsunami near the Klamath River.

Wilson says the 25-year-old Webber had just move to Klamath, Calif. from Bend, Oregon.

The mighty Klamath River will swallow a person right up. May Dustin Webber rest in peace.

I know this region well. That is one hell of a view from above it looking down. I often used to think when I'd look out over Requa, the mouth of this river, what it would be like if there was another flood.

...until you see a semi-truck picked up like a Tonka Toy and flung across the interstate.

Or people in Florida who stand outside to take pictures of a Hurricane... not a good idea...

9. i think during Katrina or something else some guys went out and they said
they saw Anderson Cooper out there so they decided to go check it out. and they ended up trapped somewhere.
