Dane County Judge denies request to stop bill
Source: Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel (jsonline.com)

Madison - Dane County Circuit Court Judge Amy Smith on Friday denied a Dane County request to grant a temporary restraining order that would have blocked Gov. Scott Walker's collective-bargaining bill.
Walker signed that measure Friday morning. The measure officially becomes law after it is published by the secretary of state.
Smith ruled that Dane County did not meet the standard for a temporary restraining order, which calls for the plaintiff to show there would be irreparable harm if the bill is published and becomes law.
"The court is not satisfied that irreparable harm will result," Smith said.
Smith, however, ordered the county and the state to come back to court on March 16.

5. Amy Smith will need to resign because she did not follow the law correctly
Edited on Fri Mar-11-11 02:49 PM by Sonicwall
It *does* meet the standard and Amy Smith is just too fucking lazy to do the job right.

It'll be appealed and an permanent injunction will be issued and a slap on the face of Ms. Smith's stupidity

P.S., it needs to be done NOW, not March 16th.

Ms Smith needs to reverse herself, ASAP.

6. Not to that Republican judge there isn't irreparable harm but to teachers and others
Edited on Fri Mar-11-11 02:51 PM by Bandit
there very well could be. When you are paid thirty thousand a year and suddenly another three thousand is taken right off the top, I would call that harm and in fact irreparable harm since there is nothing to mitigate it..

8. But the unions agreed to the concessions anyway...
"When you are paid thirty thousand a year and suddenly another three thousand is taken right off the top, I would call that harm and in fact irreparable harm since there is nothing to mitigate it.."

Public employees were going to have to pay a lot more no matter what. The Democrats and unions had already conceded that and agreed to Walker's demands in that area.

14. That was not in the bill.
The irreparable harm comes from the elimination of collective barginning.

16. Where does the judge keep her money? What legal and illegal investments does she have?
What services does she use that require government workers to provide?
