Roemer joins 2012 fray
Source: CNN

Washington (CNN) - Former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer officially joined the growing pool of potential 2012 GOP contenders on Thursday, announcing that he has formed a presidential exploratory committee.

Speaking from Baton Rouge at the bank he founded after leaving office in 1992, Roemer said he wants to run because Washington is "institutionally corrupt" and he wants to "challenge the current system of money and politics."

"Washington, DC is a boomtown and the rest of America is hurting. Why is that?" Roemer asked a room of supporters and press.

9. Naw, not Gingrich/Santorum
Gingrich is nowhere near theocratic enough to play with the lubed one. He's crazy enough to think that he is but I don't think Newtie would get right down to it and kill someone that didn't pass the pentecostal stink test. Santorum on the other hand would probably strangle you if you were 10 minutes late to church....

It's gotta be Huckabee/Santorum for all your religiosity and persecution needs.

10. Well, OK, so long as Rick is in there somewhere...Newt is just an above average sociopath
anyway...(My SIL always used to say,"He's SO SMART!!!"-but she's a little funny, too...)

11. I'm always leery whenever *anyone* uses a nickname on first meeting. . .
Why ever would I call someone I just met named Charles Elson, "buddy?"

Buddy is what I call a friendly dog I meet in the park.

Didn't like it when "Jimmy" Carter pushed himself as an all too friendly candidate, don't care for it today when I've got almost 40 more years of cynicism.

12. He uses Buddy instead of his given name Charles, to distinghish himself from his father,
also named Charles. The elder Roemer got caught up in the Brilab sting in the seventies and did some federal time. I don't know what Buddy is thinking. As governor, he had a public midlife crisis and went all new-agey for a while. He has lots of loopy quotes out there. Plus, he's a social moderate, so he has no chance in the GOP primaries.
