National alert over missing fertiliser (Aus.)
National alert over missing fertiliser

April 10, 2004

Counter-terrorism police have joined the search for 3.5 tonnes of missing ammonium nitrate fertiliser, fearing the potentially lethal explosive may have made its way to the black market and into the hands of terrorists.

The Australian Federal Police and ASIO were advised by South Australian police last week about the missing fertiliser, as a number of states indicated support for a national approach to regulate and safeguard supplies of the chemical.

1. Check at the White House!
They've been shoveling fertilizer at us for 3 years. They have to be resupplying it from somewhere...

3. Flashback - Last time a fertilizer theft was reported....1998
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 12:12 PM by LeftHander
I thought immediately there is going to be a big explosion soon. The Fertilizer was stolen in West Virgina. A few days later later the U.S. Embassy bombings in Africa occured on August 7th. CNN reported finding fuel oil and traces of ammoniun nitrate in these bombings. Articles are below. A few minutes of research and we find this....

First this from CNN on

August 02, 1998 FBI deny's any link of theft to terrorist activity. Keep in mind the Oklahoma City Bombing trials were happening at the time and overshadowed this theft.

August 7th - Embassy bombings

August 13th FBI - Gathers evidence.

Then this 7 days after the Embassy bombings in Africa traces of Ammonium Nitrate found in blast remains:

August 14th, 1998

Was anyone interested in making this connection??

Interesting that the FBI has been envolved in these investigations on Terrorist type activity this far back and was quick to relegate it as "simple theft". then we compare that to Moussoui being arrested and the FBI dropping the ball on that as well.

Contrary to Condi's admission that there are problems in communication between the FBI and the intelligence community I think there is a concerted effort to hinder these investigations and limit the expose of terrorist activities by some in the FBI.
