Giffords and staff remember victim on his birthday

(CNN) -- Gabe Zimmerman used his degree in social work to help children in need. The avid runner and his fiancee had a lot of plans.

On January 8, those plans came to an end when he and five others died when a gunman opened fire at Representative Gabrielle Gifford's "Congress on Your Corner" event in Tucson, Arizona.

Friday, the congresswoman and her staff paid tribute to Zimmerman, Giffords' director of community outreach, on what would have been his 31st birthday.

A video featuring a montage of photos was posted on Giffords' Facebook page. The video featured a recording of "Roger and Out" by singer Neil Young.

Because she didn't when she was transferred to rehab. They hadn't told her what else had happened when she was shot.

Gabrielle Giffords, the US congresswoman shot in the head by a crazed fanatic, is learning to speak again thanks a little help from The Beatles, Louis Armstrong and Don MacLean.

Doctors feared the worst when the bullet damaged the part of her brain used for talking, but by encouraging the politician to sing classics like I Can’t Give You Anything But Love and American Pie, she has started to regain her speech.She even managed to sing Happy Birthday to her husband and astronaut, Mark Kelly, as he celebrated his 47th birthday on Monday and nursery rhymes.

And despite the speedy recovery so far, it has been decided not to tell the politician about the deaths and injuries of the others from the shooting.

Her chief of staff Pia Carusone explained: ‘Doctors have said it’s not really fair to tell someone something so tragic, especially if they might not have the ability to ask the detailed questions that they will have when they hear this news.’

Maybe im just confused but the article is about the Congresswoman and her staff paying tribute to Gabe Zimmerman on what would have been his 31st birthday yet its been said that no one has told her about the massacre or the other deaths associated with her shooting...So how does she think Gabe died?
