US Troops tearing down clerics pictures in Fardus Square
Sorry mods: Saw this on CNN just now, it hasn't hit the wires yet.

CNN showing video of US Troops in Fardus Square, Baghdad tearing down pictures of Shiite Muslim cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

Today is the one year anniversary of the toppling of Saddam's statue in the same square.

Today is also Good Friday. God help us all.

Great picture. Sadly enough, I have to ask the question. Is it real?

9. No, it's photoshopped
by DU poster MoPaul.

However, there are real pics of W and the King holding hands.

that an order has gone out to tear down all pictures of Sadr in Baghdad.

Another great day for freedom and democracy.

5. That should certainly calm things down...
but, seriously, after listening to the garbage phone calls this morning on C-Span, I am beginning to convince my self that an uprising is exactly what the PNACers want. Then they can actually rationalize their way into razing the entire country. Just like one of the bright lights suggested this morning (stopped just short of saying that we should nuke the areas that are rebelling.)

13. One thing's for sure
It would be a lot easier to get all that oil out if it weren't for all those pesky Iraqis. How dare they assume that they have human rights and a right to self determination when American strategic interests are at stake?

6. Why don't they just drape American flags over the posters?
Like with So-Dumb's statue?

Would have the same effect.

The Brits are right. the Coalition need to stop acting like Conquerers and start acting like Helpers.
But it's probably too late for that.

a revolution.
