8. Obama timed this right...
It would have been completely reckless to have come out any earlier with such statements...Obama wanted to be sure all Americans were out of the country! If anyone thinks Gaddafi would not have rounded up Americans & held them hostage then I have no idea what to say. If you did not think about such a scenario, well, be thankful we have a calm rational POTUS!

Plus, the special forces are already in the country helping train the anti-Gaddafi forces...And while I have mixed feelings about this I wish them the best!

9. According to The Daily Mail, Mugabe has offered him sanctuary in Zimbabwe...
Edited on Sat Feb-26-11 10:20 PM by Turborama

Robert Mugabe has sent crack troops from his presidential guard to fight for Colonel Gaddafi – and has even offered him exile in Zimbabwe.

Gaddafi, 68, has reportedly loaded an aircraft with gold bullion and cash ahead of a flight south to safety in Zimbabwe.

He and Mugabe, (pictured), 87 this week, are long-time friends and allies.

At one point, they even discussed creating one giant state of Africa, with Gaddafi president for life and Mugabe his loyal prime minister.

10. AJE with more on this... "Obama: Gaddafi must leave Libya now"
Edited on Sat Feb-26-11 10:26 PM by Turborama
Last Modified: 26 Feb 2011 23:36 GMT

US President Barack Obama has said that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has lost his legitimacy to rule and urged him to step down from power immediately.

Obama’s call came in a call on Saturday to Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, sharpening US rhetoric after days of deadly violence - and criticism that Washington was slow to respond.

"When a leader's only means of staying in power is to use mass violence against his own people, he has lost the legitimacy to rule and needs to do what is right for his country by leaving now," the White House said in a statement, summarising their telephone conversation.

"The president and the chancellor shared deep concerns about the Libyan government's continued violation of human rights and brutalisation of its people."

13. American intervention is the worst dagger that could be plunged into the nascent revolutionaries
At what point will these politicians in the "west" realize that it is their idiocy in placing their hands in every cookie jar that may have perhaps created the current environment? Further meddling to make up for the prior meddling...the logic betrays the brainless base from which the argument flows--as if it should be taken at face value, anyway.

15. How about Obama minding his own business for once?
Wisconsin, anyone?

It can turn into US revolution real fast. Law enforcers are also fed up with this situation.

What will Obama do?
Quietly leave?
