Pressure mounts on Security Council to end Libya deaths ("crimes against humanity" resolution drawn)

UNITED NATIONS — UN chief Ban Ki-moon on Friday demanded decisive action by the UN Security Council against Moamer Kadhafi's bloody crackdown in Libya, warning that any delay would add to the growing death toll.

Ban's call and an emotional speech by the Libyan ambassador to the United Nations -- in which he mentioned the actions of Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot -- jolted the council into ordering a special meeting on Saturday to consider a sanctions resolution against Kadhafi.

The UN leader said more than 1,000 people have already been killed in the Libyan bloodshed. Libya's deputy UN envoy said earlier that thousands had been killed.

Ban told the 15-nation council of reports that Libyan forces had gone into hospitals to kill wounded opponents, and soldiers were being killed because they had refused to fire on civilians.

Sorry, but that's an analogical fail.

I'm not defending the "wealthy (who) have no problems sitting back and letting poor Americans carry the burden", but not everything happening in the world can be turned into an easily digested American metaphor.

6. And that's a VERY conservative estimate
From the reports, it looks like thousands have already been murdered. Gaddafi's thugs have been collecting bodies from morgues, hospitals and the streets to hide them in secret mass graves. It's even been reported that they've buried bodies on Libya's beaches.

Yes, no one has ever been able to find "secret" mass graves before. Idiots!
