UW Students Hold Protests (Wisconsin)
Source: http://whbl.com/news/articles/2011/feb/14/uw-students-hold-protests/

Madison, Wis. (Learfield) - Students and teachers from U-W Madison-and-Milwaukee held protest rallies today against Governor Scott Walker’s plans for public employee unions. In Madison, hundreds of people chanted “Kill this bill” as they filled the hallway leading to Walker’s office. They poured valentines on the desk of an office guard, asking the Republican Walker not to break their hearts. And they chanted and stomped on the floor for a few minutes, then left without incident. At U-W-M, one protestor carried a sign asking, “Did Wisconsin elect a king?” Meanwhile, unions banded together to hold a news conference to condemn the governor’s plans to strip most unions of most of their bargaining power – and to make them pay more for their pensions and health insurance. Lyle Balistreri of the Milwaukee Building and Construction Trades’ union said the governor wants to create jobs and quote, “We can do that if we work together.” Walker was on WHBL's Jerry Bader show this morning to emphasize that public union workers would still have their civil service protections. And Walker said those protections are much better that what employees in the private sector get. A public hearing on the proposal is set for tomorrow. Lawmakers could act on it later this week.

3. Gilles is correct, Sargento Cheese and Johnsonville Brats
go to FB and search "Boycott Scott Walker Contributors" to get complete list. Most are not consumer product manufacturers, but these two pop out.

I agree, although the two cheese factories I go to around here are rabid repubs. Hey, Gilles, give me a list of ones that are truly progressive. I will search out their products. Thanks!
