Chicago Tea Party Endorses Gery Chico For Mayor, Slams Rahm Emanuel
Source: The Huffington Post

The last Republican to serve as Mayor of Chicago was the deeply corrupt William "Big Bill" Thompson, who ended his term in 1931. Since then, the city has been run by what many call the "Democratic machine," and once again, there are no Republican mayoral candidates on the ballot.

Though conservative politicians may not thrive in the city, there are still conservative voters. Earlier this month, the Chicago Tea Party Patriots endorsed Democrat Gery Chico for mayor--and now, one of his opponents is using their support against him.

"Personally, this is an endorsement that I would never accept," candidate Miguel del Valle said during a Sunday press conference in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood. "The Tea Party's positions on everything from immigration reform to health care reform are not aligned with the needs and wants of the people of Chicago."

Catherina Wojtowicz, the often volatile leader of the Chicago Tea Party Patriots, explained the choice on the organization's website:

1. Miguel del Valle is the best candidate in this race.
Unfortunately, Rahmbo has all $$$$$ thanks to his corporate donors' deep pockets.

But the person with the best vision for the city, who understands the poor and working class people, who knows how to move Chicago forward is Miguel del Valle. He will receive my vote this month.

2. I agree del Valle is the best but he is not a fundraiser type which is needed
I would take Chico b4 Rahm anyday and at least he seemed to have a chance
Braun/Watkins too
There is a reason the police and fire unions are supporting Chico. In one of Rahm's ads he promises and tells you that he is going to bust the city's unions if you listen between the hype....something like "we need the best services at the best price"
I sure everything city service wise will go private under him to his corp friends and it wont be the 'best' for anyone except Rahm and his donor$ and all fees paid by the citizen will go up for less in return......IMO
:puke:
