Mourdock to challenge Lugar for Senate seat
Source: Indianapolis Star

Lafayette, Ind. -- State Treasurer Richard Mourdock will attempt to unseat Richard Lugar, the longest-serving U.S. senator in Indiana history.

He surprised many Saturday at a gathering of the Tippecanoe County Republican Women's Club by saying, "I've made the decision."

"I've had a lot of people talk to me about considering running for U.S. Senate in 2012," Mourdock told about 80 people. "On February 22nd, we're going to be touring the state to make a special announcement."

Later in the article, it says Mourock was "mentioned frequently at a recent gathering of representatives from dozens of Indiana tea party groups in Sharpsville."

So it begins. Lugar is going to have a rough Republican Primary.

1. Just so everybody knows

4. That's a shame
Lugar is one of the few remaining sane and rational Republicans. I disagree with him, but he's not a loon and he certainly doesn't play politics with foreign policy.
