Egypt braces for massive protest
Source: BBC

Organisers say they hope one million will come onto the streets in what is expected to be the biggest show yet. A rally is also planned in Alexandria.

Egypt's powerful army has vowed it will not use force against the protesters.

Meanwhile, new Vice President Omar Suleiman says he will hold cross-party talks on constitutional reform.

Mr Mubarak reshuffled his cabinet on Monday to try to head off the protests, replacing the widely despised Interior Minister Habib al-Adly.

Simply awesome. Egypt knows how to throw a revolution. I'm simply spellbound.

Edited to add: The name of the channel is Link. Don't know what channel Direct TV has it is on. Hopefully someone with Direct TV will post it.

9. Mubarak has certainly united his people!
On Al Jazeera reporters are saying the demographics of the crowd included all walks of life. Religious leaders, handicapped, old and young. No specific political group has organized this. Opposition groups have made the statement that Mubarak must stand down.

The atmosphere is festive. I know the feeling. The first time I went to a demonstration against Bush's war just being around tens of thousands of like minded people was very heady.
