GOP wants return to workplace immigration raids
Source: yahoo news

GOP Congressmen are calling on President Obama to return to large-scale workplace raids to round up and deport illegal immigrants--even though the Obama administration conducted a record number of deportations last year.

The new chair of a congressional immigration subcommittee, Rep. Elton Gallegly, said the lack of worker deportations are represents a "grave disservice to American workers," reports to the Ventura County Star.

The Obama White House has deported more illegal immigrants in one fiscal year than any other presidency has in recent history, even resorting to unorthodox tactics in the rush to beat their deportation record. The administration's focus, however, has been on deporting people with criminal records or people who have been arrested for any crime.

Workplace raids have dropped 70 percent since President George W. Bush's last two years in office, and the Obama administration says it prefers to concentrate on punishing employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants instead of the workers themselves via investigations and fines.

1. Great. Send immigration to the homes of all elected Republicans and their prime donors.
That will get rid of a few thousand right there.

2. Great idea. Drag the white hiring managers out in shackles
and throw them in jail. Minimum 30 days for first offense. ONLY when white people are sitting in jail for hiring brown people will a dent be made in illegal immigration.

3. Here we go again..
Just more slice, dice, separate, and prosecute...
Yep...
This is the only way these mindless fools think..
How about something to bring us together and find an answer instead???
I am sick of this.. America is broken into groups, and separated and used for pure political gain..
If you don't go with the program... You are separated and then persecuted or prosecuted.. Now you are no threat Politically..

7. Back to the bush strategy. Go after the workers, not the employers. Do these guys ever
have a new idea?

"Large-scale workplace arrests of illegal workers were hallmarks of the George W. Bush administration's approach in its final years. But two years ago Obama decided to shift enforcement efforts to focus on employers who knowingly hire illegal workers.

Instead, targeting employers is part of an effort by the administration to thwart illegal immigration by reducing the demand for illegal jobs, which draws hundreds of thousands across the border each year to look for work. "There is a laser-like focus on holding employers accountable. In the final analysis, they are the ones supplying the jobs. It is the greatest use of the resources," Kibble said.

Under Obama, cases against employers are up sharply: Immigration and Customs Enforcement quadrupled the number of employer audits after Obama took office, increasing the number of inspections and arrests against those who knowingly hire illegal immigrants. Businesses were fined $6.9 million in fiscal 2010, up from $675,000 in 2008."
